With the hundreds of film makers coming into Thailand to shoot commercials and films, it’s no wonder why everyone is aiming for this South East Asian country to be on their list. The majestic kingdom of Thailand is the premiere choice for directors because of the natural beauty, vast geography, and rich culture. Here we have named the top top filming locations in Thailand.
Bangkok
With the modern metropolis growing every year, the city also has countless temples, old streets, Shopping Centres, neon nightlife and more. With the many hotspots available in the capital, it is an oasis for producers to have the city in their backdrop. Not only does the city have a vast amount of factors to consider on land but on water also. The Chao Phraya River is also a testament to a lot of movies being filmed in Thailand. Stretching from the gulf to in between the main metropolis, this river splits right down the middle of the city, which also makes it an easy way to travel.
Phuket
With the stunning scenery, natural beauty, paradisiacal atmosphere and the haunting surrounding islands there are many reason as to why producers would want to use Phuket in their film. Being Thailand’s largest island it is home to the country’s tropical beauty all in one package. With the advantage of beautiful sceneries, the added benefit of filming in Phuket is the abundant amount of foreigners available to cast living in this region of Thailand as well.
Krabi
Known for being the ideal location to shoot big Advertisements and Commercials, Krabi’s popularity to film production is not something that just came to existence, if you are a fan of James Bond movies then you might know what we are talking about. The unusual landscapes call for a one of a kind scenery that isn’t found anywhere else. Krabi itself has 150 different islands in the region and paradise for any beach or ocean lover.
Chiang Mai
Flowery fields, huge forests, and mountain peaks is all one would expect from this northern region of The Land of smiles. This region has had many encounters with Hollywood and other international blockbusters over the recent years and expects more in the following years to come. Chiang Mai has tons of locations, including walking streets, temples, rivers, bridges, hotels, beautiful gardens, and much much more. Chiang Mai is also close to the border of Myanmar and Laos as it can make it easy to even shoot outside of Thailand if needed.
Khao Yai
If you’re trying to film more of a western cowboy style location, then Khao Yai has you covered. Being in the mountain side, Khao Yai has a different theme than the rest of its brother regions showcasing its vast farm lands and mountains towering next to main roads. Not only does Khao Yai have farms but forests filled with vegetation of rubber trees, wild coffee, fig trees etc. This region of Thailand may come to a surprise as there are many locations with mixed culture and architecture all throughout the region. From the traditional Thai style homes to elaborate stonewalled castles can be noticed driving down one of the main roads through Khao Yai.
